Sir Olorin Milta

Olorin Milta -- full name Prince Kaim Sanchez Cyaxares Nazir-Vincente Olorin ban Osroes ban Aldia du Otranto, Darkmoon Prince of Jadd and Swordmaster of the Second Circle -- is the grandson of Prince Aldia and one of Hadrian's oldest and most trusted allies. He first appeared to Hadrian as Sir Olorin, bodyguard to Lady Kalima on Emesh, becoming Hadrian's earliest patron and gifting him a highmatter blade with the words *Iffero fosim* -- Bring light. His true identity as Prince Kaim, commander of the Jaddian armada, was later revealed. He wed Princess Vivienne of the Aventine, forging a dynastic bond between Jadd and the Sollan Empire.

Olorin commanded the Jaddian fleet at Gododdin, endorsed Hadrian's appointment as Auctor, and was reported killed in the destruction of his flagship *Mnemon* -- surviving only by jettisoning the bridge section as a lifeboat at the moment of the ship's destruction, though at the cost of many men. He comes directly to *Aurora* with his comm array damaged, unable to confirm the fates of Tiada or Kalima.

After his survival is revealed, Olorin fights alongside Hadrian during the escape from *Aurora* and stands with him on Demiurge during the firing of Astrophage. At the round-table council he grasps quickly that the Imperial palatine genetic system operates through deliberate mutation by retrovirus, and raises the argument that Earth holds greater value as a symbol than as a target for destruction. He stands at Hadrian's right hand as an ally and, in Hadrian's own estimation, a brother.
