Grand Inquisitor

The Grand Inquisitor is a senior officer of the Chantry Inquisition, answerable to the Synod of high priests on Vesperad rather than to the Synarch. She boards the Tamerlane and places Hadrian under cabin arrest, confines non-essential crew to quarters, and orders a full forensic sweep of the ship's electronics. She is striking in appearance -- bald, milk-pale, with colorless white eyes, black vestments, and a signet ring of bone -- and does not offer her name, suggesting she may no longer have one. She speaks with apparent earnestness and withdraws from Forum without further contact once the Inquisition concludes.
