Tiada di Umaz
CharacterAlso known as: Tiada
First appears in Empire of Silence, Chapter 19
Tiada di Umaz is a Jaddian Maeskolos and one of Prince Kaim-Olorin's houris and alkidarae, serving also as his lover-lictor. She fought alongside Kaim throughout the Nessus campaign, demonstrating exceptional skill with highmatter blades against Cielcin and chimeras.
In the councils aboard the Demiurge she is the most persistently skeptical voice among the Jaddian delegation, challenging Hadrian Marlowe's account and pointing out every gap or inconsistency. She expresses contempt for the Holy Terran Chantry's hypocrisy on daimons and presses hard practical questions about the alliance's ability to locate the Cielcin without Latarran cooperation.
At the visit to the ruins of Annica she witnesses a stone chip rise from the floor to rejoin the wall -- a display of what Hadrian claims is divine power -- and exclaims "Tarphanda!" (impossible). Despite the evidence before her, she remains unconvinced, sitting in Kaim's arms-crossed posture and silently sharing Captain Azhar's disbelief.
