Kaim-Olorin -- formally Kaim Sanchez Cyaxares Nazir-Vincente Olorin ban Osroes ban Aldia du Otranto, Prince of Jadd and Her Three Moons and Supreme Commander -- is the Darkmoon of Jadd, a descendant of the legendary Katanes, and husband of Princess Vivienne of the Aventine. He belongs to the secret order il Ebtellah du Qal and served as Hadrian's most consequential non-Imperial ally across the war against the Cielcin.

Kaim committed two hundred million mamluk soldiers to the war, fought alongside Hadrian at Perfugium, rallied the fleet at Tenba, endorsed Hadrian's appointment as Auctor, and commanded the Jaddian fleet at the Battle of Gododdin. At the war's end, when Hadrian is handed over to Alexander's forces, Kaim withdraws the Jaddian ships immediately. Hadrian entrusts him with the Darklight weapon to use against the Lothrians burning Jaddian worlds. Whether Kaim will make peace with the Sollan Empire or lead Jadd into war remains uncertain.
