Bancroft

Bancroft is the System Commandant and commandant of the Storm Wall, directing Berenike's Orbital Defense Force during the Cielcin siege of Deira. She discloses the existence of Falcon-II attack craft at the ODF base in Iselia, oversees the civilian evacuation of Deira -- her home city -- and reacts with visible grief when the city is bombed.

By the later stages of the siege, the Cielcin Prophet Syriani Dorayaica publicly names Bancroft as governor-general of Berenike in a proclamation addressed to her, Lorian Aristedes, Alexander, and the defenders of the Storm Wall, declaring that Hadrian Marlowe has fallen.
