Mintaka

The Mintaka is a heavy battleship more than five miles long. It is described as fully repaired and operational at Fort Din.

Commodore Verus dispatches a courier ship from the Mintaka to investigate a convoy's last known trajectory. The courier ship is expected to arrive at the search zone within a year.

The Mintaka serves as escort for the troop transports in a convoy to Nemavand, bringing up the rear of the convoy formation as it departs Gododdin. During a Cielcin attack, the Mintaka is the first ship breached by boarders. Verus seals the bridge and reports a couple hundred Cielcin aboard, claiming the situation is under control before communications go dark. The Cielcin boarders deploy an anchor cable from the interior through the hull, bypassing the shields, and begin dragging the Mintaka toward the Cielcin worldship in a decaying orbit.

The Mintaka remains in Cielcin hands during the boarding battle, with the Cielcin firing on it from within. Verus fights the boarders in the halls while the ship's engines are disabled by the Cielcin. The Mintaka ultimately wins free of the engagement after Cade's action.
