Coritani

Coritani is the staging ground where First Strategos Titus Hauptmann masses the Imperial fleet, including the forces of the 437th Legion. The fleet at Coritani lies some fifteen years' travel at normal speed from the outer frontier near Emesh. Bassander Lin issues a recall to Coritani, which Hadrian Marlowe defies in order to proceed with his mission to Vorgossos.

Following Hadrian's departure, the Imperial fleet regroups at Coritani rather than following his course. Knight-Tribune Raine Smythe's secret orders explicitly authorize Hadrian and his foederati to disregard the standing recall order to regroup at Coritani and instead proceed to Vorgossos. Hadrian later characterizes Hauptmann's order to return to Coritani as defeatist.
