Albedo is an Archontic weapon carried in the arsenal of Demiurge. It is launched as a ball of light and is capable of accelerating to more than ten percent the speed of light initially, and later up to half the speed of light. It can change direction instantly. It possesses intelligence, described as unlike that of Artemision.

Albedo's hull is composed of highmatter, its particles bound together by the same force that binds protons to neutrons, making her effectively indestructible under any force in the Gododdin system save perhaps other archons. Her mind is crystal, silicon and gold, with her thoughts described as pure light. She experiences time radically differently from organic beings -- each second is equivalent to a century of opportunity for her. She is described as having been made for war by her makers.

Albedo is deployed during a battle involving the Imperial armada, where it smashes through Imperial fleet missiles one after another in rapid succession, destroying them. Its deployment lasts one hundred seven seconds before it is recalled to Demiurge's arsenal.

In a later engagement against the Cielcin fleet at the Gododdin system, Albedo maps every vessel and trajectory in her first second of wakefulness, then accelerates to half the speed of light. Within three seconds she destroys over five thousand of the more than twenty-one thousand Cielcin ships present, including two worldships. She passes directly through worldship surfaces, finding cold stone and seas of antihydrogen kept near absolute zero; she smashes through a fuel injector, triggering annihilation cascades.

Subsequently deployed against Ushara, Albedo is commanded by Orphan via the Demiurge daimon. Ushara catches Albedo in flight with one spectral hand and crushes her. Orphan reports her destruction: "Weapon destroyed."
