Vayadan Inumjazi Muzugara
CharacterAlso known as: Muzugara
First appears in Kingdoms of Death, Chapter 36
Inumjazi Muzugara -- full title Prince Inumjazi Muzugara, Lord of the Twenty-Ninth Branching of the Line of Atumanu, Beloved of Elu, Servant of Miudanar -- is a Cielcin commander whose history with Hadrian extends from the Battle of Thagura, where Hadrian's Red Company destroyed its fleet, through Akterumu, where it was among the princes who swore themselves into slavery at the feet of Syriani Dorayaica. It survived both Dorayaica's poison and the Aetavanni campaign, and later commanded the assault on Phanamhara.
By the time of the events on Sabratha, Muzugara bears the rank of vayadan-general rather than prince, its arms replaced by white mechanical contrivances described as a gift of the Prophet. It arrives at Sabratha not under Dorayaica's orders but on its own initiative, seeking to claim the Watcher as a personal patron -- as the legendary figure Elu once did -- and thereby raise itself to Dorayaica's level. Hadrian had previously encountered it at Eue.
Upon entering the Watcher's pantheon on Sabratha, Muzugara leads the assembled Cielcin in ritual prayer and personally sacrifices its lieutenant Gurazi. When the Watcher manifests, however, it turns on Muzugara: white tendrils erupt and tear the vayadan-general apart, scattering fragmented copies of its body throughout the chamber before they vanish. Ramanthanu declares Muzugara dead.
