Rizhaa

Rizhaa is an Irchtani soldier who serves as an aerial scout during the campaign over Catraeth. He has black feathers and wears auxiliary khaki. Hadrian recognizes him as a veteran of the Battle of Vorgossos, where Rizhaa fought alongside Annaz to retake the machine core from Kedron's forces. He is immune to the plague afflicting Catraeth.

During the extraction from Catraeth, Rizhaa plunges from the sky to answer Hadrian's rooftop signal, addresses him as "Man-Commander Marlowe," and produces flares to summon additional Irchtani. He carries Princess Selene during the aerial evacuation to Fort Din, setting her down gently on arrival. Selene thanks him directly as "sir bird."
