Prince Hector Avent

Prince Hector Avent is the Lord High Chancellor of the Imperial Council and brother to the Emperor, whom he closely resembles in appearance. He presides over the Council with measured authority, deflecting aggressive factions and brokering moderate compromises.

Hector informs Hadrian that the Emperor has been entertaining the idea of placing him on the Council, a notion Hadrian rejects in favor of returning to the front. After Hadrian's near-declaration of war against the Holy Terran Chantry, Hector breaks the stunned silence to confirm that the Council opposes any proposed marriage between Hadrian and Selene.
