Prince Aldia

Prince Aldia is the High Prince of Jadd and head of House du Otranto, a man of nearly a thousand standard years whose age leaves him dependent on a silvered float-chair. He is a close friend of Hadrian and a longstanding ally of the Sollan Empire, whose subsidies underwrite Jaddian naval construction in exchange for defense against the Lothrian Commonwealth.

Aldia plays a central role in relaying the crisis precipitated by the Cielcin attack on Nessus, in which thirty-two worldships burned the planet and the Jaddian navy lost nine hundred ships in defense. He also informs Hadrian that Jaddian fleets vaporized suspected plague canisters targeted at the planet. He arranged the contractual marriage of Olorin to a Jaddian princess, securing Olorin within Jaddian holdings on Otranto.
