Oalicomn

Oalicomn is the coteliho -- herald -- of Prince Aranata, a Cielcin noble encountered during peace negotiations in Howling Dark. It wears white and blue robes, carries a weighted staff, and bears an intricate tattoo of whorls and interlocking circles covering one half of its face. It is killed by Hadrian when the negotiations collapse into violence.

Throughout the diplomatic meetings, Oalicomn delivers Aranata's ceremonial titles and serves as a fierce, if poorly contained, advocate for its master's position. It objects repeatedly to terms it views as unfavorable to the Cielcin -- warning against Hadrian's guards sleeping among them, hissing that proposed conditions would starve its people -- and is silenced by Aranata with casual physical correction each time. When the talks break down, Oalicomn strikes Hadrian with its staff and calls humans "susulatari" -- devils or monsters -- before attacking him. Hadrian parries, shears the head from the staff, and cuts Oalicomn down.
