Aranata Otiolo

Aranata Otiolo -- Aeta Utsebimn Aranata Otiolo, Viudihom, Prince of the Itani Otiolo -- was the sovereign chieftain of the Cielcin Itani Otiolo clan fleet, killed by Hadrian in the Garden aboard Kharn Sagara's vessel. Over a thousand years old at his death, Aranata is one of Hadrian's key pieces of evidence that the Cielcin are biologically immortal, having hinted at his own extreme age during their negotiations.

Aranata defeated Hadrian in single combat -- severing his arm and then his head beside a lake on Kharn Sagara's ship -- before Hadrian returned from death and killed him. That Hadrian survived the decapitation is later cited, when Pallino and Crim ask why the Lothrians want him, as evidence of what the Quiet made him. Hadrian keeps one of Aranata's silver rings as a keepsake.
