The Sun Eater Wiki

First appears in Howling Dark, Chapter 35

Naia is a homunculus in the service of Kharn Sagara on Vorgossos, engineered as a bed servant and used as a remote-controlled instrument of surveillance. She has raven hair, oversized blue irises that give her a permanently startled look, and pale skin. A SOM implant behind her right ear matches Kharn's own device, allowing him to operate her body and observe through her senses at will.

Kharn sent her to Hadrian's chambers under the guise of hospitality but used her as one of his many camera-eyes, conducting an experiment on a trapped guest and compelling Hadrian to draw a picture through her. Naia acknowledges that her desires were placed in her by her makers, whom Hadrian regards as her slavers. She becomes a recurring symbol of manufactured subservience: Calvert later threatens to use Hadrian and Valka's genetic material to create a similar creature to service his clients.
