Liada Ogir

Liada Ogir is the High Chancellor of Emesh, the shrewd Imperial bureaucrat who serves as the effective power behind Count Mataro's throne. Of plebeian birth, she bears the surgical scarring and patrician bearing of her long rise through the Imperial system.

At court she is sharp-tongued and protective of institutional prerogative. During a council session she moves to undercut Hadrian's standing, openly challenging his right to speak, but backs down when Count Mataro reins her in. She also attends the inquisition proceedings in the bastille as an observer, and is a consistent presence at formal court functions.
