Imrah of Colchis

Imrah is the Keeper of Thessa, the island of the dead on Colchis, and a Sevrastene native. She is a descendant of Siran -- whose resemblance she bears in her almond eyes and strong jaw -- and the sister of Alvar.

Imrah cared for Gibson in his final years and continues to oversee Thessa's burial grounds. She tells Hadrian that none of her people would exist without him, since it was his command that kept Siran on Colchis. She notes that islanders are increasingly burying their dead on the north side of Thessa, drawn by the legend of the Halfmortal, and affirms that there will always be a Keeper at the island. She holds that the gods bend evil to good ends, pointing to Siran's original desertion as the act that placed her family in position to care for Hadrian across the centuries.
