Hrothgar

Hrothgar is an enormous raven kept by the March Station official Antonius Brevon, perched beside his armchair on a gilded baroque stand. During Hadrian's negotiation with Brevon, the bird punctuates the meeting with intelligible croaks of "No!" and is fed morsels by its owner throughout.
