Cornelius Eldan is a palatine officer commanding the Pride of Zama. At a fleet conference, he repeatedly pushes for immediate departure to Nemavand, dismissing the slow-warp plan as foolishness. Hadrian privately judges him as a man who is only strong against social inferiors. The Pride of Zama participates in the assault on the Cielcin worldship.
