Aulamn

Character

Also known as: Vayadan Aulamn

First appears in Kingdoms of Death, Chapter 27

Aulamn is one of the four surviving Iedyr Yemani, the holy chimeric slaves who serve the Cielcin Prophet Syriani Dorayaica, and is Syriani's foremost vayadan-general of the White Hand. A winged chimera with a mostly ceramic body, red eyes, and membranous wings, it is built as a weapon: its left arm houses a built-in energy lance, one hand bears retractable bladed fingers capable of shearing through alumglass, and a concealed port in its shoulder deploys a short-barreled MAG weapon. Its daimon-assisted mind grants it near-perfect targeting precision.

Aulamn accompanies the Prophet to Eue and later to the Tamerlane in orbit, serving as Syriani's most lethal enforcer. It demands Hadrian's death as blood payment for his killing of two fellow Iedyr Yemani and harbors explosive fury toward Aranata Otiolo. On Eue it kills a captured Red Company officer by dropping him from a great height to compel compliance from the other prisoners.

Aulamn meets its end in battle on the hull of the Tamerlane. It attacks the Ibis shuttle, tearing Crim from the pilot's seat, but Crim's magnetic mines blast its arm apart. On the hull, already missing one arm, Aulamn kills Ilex and seizes Pallino. Pallino ultimately destroys it by severing its remaining arm with Hadrian's thrown sword and driving the blade through its nearly severed neck into its chest cavity.
