Amon Kosis

Amon Kosis is the Supreme Legate of the Martian Legions and one of three triumvirs who governed Gododdin during the Emperor's incapacity. Tall and lean with the characteristic Martian phenotype, he has a weathered, deeply scarred face. He is killed by Hadrian during the final confrontation aboard the Imperial flagship Aurora.

Though initially regarded as the most sympathetic of the triumvirs toward Hadrian, Kosis's allegiance lies with Prince Alexander. He backs Alexander's public accusation that Hadrian bombed Catraeth, marches beside the Prince at the court confrontation, and stands unmoved at Alexander's arrest. When Hadrian is named Emperor by the dying Emperor William and moves to depart, Kosis blocks his passage in the atrium with more than a hundred Martian soldiers, his sidearm leveled at Hadrian's chest. He accuses Hadrian of conspiracy, high treason, and regicide, and demands he surrender his weapons, hand over the ship Demiurge, and accept exile. The confrontation ends in violence: Hadrian kills Kosis with his highmatter blade.
