Teukros

Teukros is a world housing an athenaeum of the scholiast order at a settlement called Nov Senber, overseen by an athenaeum primate. The planet is far warmer than Delos; when terraformed there was not enough cometary mass in the system to start a lasting water cycle, so settlers regulate the air with sand plankton, as summer temperatures run high enough to kill more delicate flora.

Teukros becomes Hadrian's true destination when Liliana secretly arranges for him to be carried there by the Jaddian free trader Eurynasir rather than sent to the Chantry seminary on Vesperad as his father decreed. The route from Delos to Teukros is indirect, passing through Obatala and Siena, making the total journey thirteen years. Hadrian carries a universal payment card worth twenty thousand marks sufficient to fund significant independent activity upon arrival, and the Eurynasir's crew are to be paid nine thousand marks from his account on Teukros upon completion of the voyage.
