Linon

Linon is a sealed fortress on a distant moon at the edge of the Delos system, approximately half a system from the planet itself. It was the former ancestral seat of House Orin. Lord Alistair crushed a rebellion by House Orin there within its first year, killing every member of the house, smashing their genestock, raiding their family atomics, and depressurizing the sealed castle — earning him the title Butcher of Linon and leaving the fortress a shattered ruin in a twilit crater, home only to ghosts. This act is widely known throughout the sector as a deterrent to other lesser houses.

The Battle of Linon was the culmination of Lord Alistair's decades-long effort to erase the embarrassment of his father Lord Timon's murder — a process that took the better part of a century. Gibson may have counseled the destruction of House Orin's bloodline as part of that consolidation of power.
