Judecca

Judecca is a cold, craggy planet in the Centaurus Arm, home to giant birds and the Irchtani — a species of winged xenobites. Its highest mountain is the site of Athten Var, a complex associated with the Tomb of Simeon the Red and considered the holiest place in Irchtani religion. The Temple of Athten Var is built of the same flat-faced black stone found at the Quiet ruins at Calagah on Emesh and the Marching Towers on Sadal Suud, identifying it as a Quiet site predating any Irchtani or human presence. Valka Onderra has personally visited Athten Var. Judecca was named by the scholiast-explorer Simeon the Red, who chose the name for the treason suffered there when his crew mutinied. It was at Athten Var that Simeon made his legendary stand alongside the Irchtani princes against the mutineers. Judecca is part of the Sollan Empire, though Hadrian cannot recall which house rules it.
