Fidchell

World

First appears in Ashes of Man, Chapter 27

Fidchell is a frigid, sparsely inhabited world in the Sollan Empire, orbiting a distant yellow star. It serves primarily as a refueling and supply waystation, hosting an Imperial Legion fuel depot and a Guild outpost, with an orbital station serving commercial and military traffic.

Geography

Fidchell is a frigid, snow-covered world colloquially described as an iceball. It orbits a distant yellow star. The day side is characterized by limitless tundra with almost no visible signs of human habitation. The night side shows the sparse lights of mining settlements. The planet has petroleum deposits, which are actively mined.

Culture

Fidchell's economy is centered on petroleum extraction. The Mining Guild maintains a presence at the planet, and Guild vessels are regularly found docked at Fidchell Station. The Wong-Hopper Consortium also operates ships that call at the station.

Politics

Fidchell falls within the Sollan Empire and hosts an Imperial Legion fuel depot. It functions primarily as a Guild outpost and serves as a logistical waystation for Imperial fleet movements in the region.

Notable Locations

**Fidchell Station** is an orbital station described as a topless tangle of silver towers, with some rising, some falling, and some proceeding at right angles from an equatorial docking band. Many ships lie at anchor there, including Mining Guild vessels and Consortium ships with furled silver sails. The station handles both commercial and military traffic.
