Fishers Guild

The Fishers Guild is a commercial fishing operation on Emesh, employing Umandh as coloni slave labor in fish-processing warehouses and offshore facilities. Their main hall in Borosevo contains a mosaic floor depicting men and Umandh pulling fish from the sea to feed a hungry city. The guild harvests seven-meter-long congrid eels and terranic sharks, with warehouse workers using large machetes to gut the catch — the same tools Hadrian improvises with during the Umandh uprising. The guild operates a significant compound at Ulakiel, where approximately 1,743 Umandh are held, and reports to both the count and the Imperial civil service office on Forum directly — a split loyalty between local and Imperial oversight that creates an administrative tension. Niles Engin serves as their vilicus on Emesh, overseeing the Umandh labor force until his death during the warehouse uprising.
