Dragonslayers

The Dragonslayers are the Ninth Special Detachment of the 409th Centaurine Legion. The unit numbers approximately one hundred troopers and is organized into smaller sub-units called triases. The unit is commanded by Command Centurion Quentin Sharp, with individual triases led by decurions including Decurion Stas and Decurion Aron.

Members are shave-pated and wear black fatigues aboard ship. For planetary assault operations, each trooper wears a repulsor harness for drop insertion and carries lances, disruptors, plasma rifles, and bandoleers.

The Dragonslayers earn their nickname from their success cracking Cielcin hybrids during the rescue of Countess Volsenna at the Battle of Cidamus. Approximately one hundred of Sharp's Dragonslayers embark on the Ascalon for a fortress assault. During the operation, the first trias under Decurion Stas is tasked with breaching the main facility and disabling communications, the second under Decurion Aron is assigned to demolish the space elevator hightower, and the third under Sharp targets the landing-field shuttles. The bulk of the unit is executed at point-blank range by Urbaine's golems after being disarmed in the garden dome.

Quentin Sharp serves as Command Centurion and overall commander of the Dragonslayers. Decurion Stas leads the first trias, tasked with breaching the main facility; he is among the kneeling Dragonslayers executed at point-blank range by Urbaine's golems. Decurion Aron leads the second trias, assigned to demolish the hightower.
