Sir Damien Aradhya

Sir Damien Aradhya was one of HAPSIS's finest agents, personally commended as such by Emperor William. He commanded the starship Atropos on an expedition to the Vaiartu pilgrimage site on Nairi, ordered by Emperor Sebastian XII, where his team discovered ancient ruins sheltering a titanic Watcher entombed beneath the city. Aradhya concluded that the Vaiartu had built the city to worship the creature, which he named the Monumental, and filed detailed reports he never transmitted. When a Legion recovery ship arrived decades later, the Atropos still orbited Nairi; the entire expedition was found dead on the surface, the deaths ruled suicide. Hadrian later draws on Aradhya's fate as a grim parallel to his own situation -- an agent sent not to explore but to confront something dangerous.
