Shara

Shara is a beggar-guide encountered by Hadrian in the underground city of Vorgossos. Disheveled and living rough, she stations herself near the main street and lifts, offering to lead new arrivals to the city's magi in exchange for coin. She names slaves, soldiers, and weapons among the services she can arrange. She claims to have been left by the Undying to "mind the gate," and visibly recoils -- hand trembling -- when Hadrian speaks the name Kharn Sagara.
