Samir

Samir is a plagiarius on the planet Rustam who survived the Cielcin sack of the city of Suren roughly a decade before Hadrian encounters him. He serves as intermediary and protector for the Extrasolarian arms dealer known as the Painted Man. Deeply distrustful of palatine nobiles, he works with Hadrian only because money is money regardless of its source, though he warns that the noble blood in people like Hadrian makes others want to put them down. He is aware that both the Chantry and the interim Consul Zhivay keep watch in Arslan and considers inquiries about the Painted Man dangerously conspicuous. During a confrontation at a tea house, he is stunned by Hadrian's phase disruptor and taken prisoner.
