Quintus

Quintus is a douleter -- a uniformed overseer -- employed at the fishing warehouses in Borosevo's merchants' quarter, supervising enslaved Umandh laborers. He is brutal and contemptuous toward his charges, routinely beating them and referring to them as dogs and beasts. His fellow douleter must restrain him to prevent him from killing a laborer outright, which would forfeit their bonus and anger their superior.
