Otomno
CharacterFirst appears in Disquiet Gods, Chapter 26
Otomno is a Cielcin scahari warrior and the mate of the late Ramanthanu, the sole Cielcin remaining in Hadrian's service. Smaller and broader of hip than Ramanthanu, with shorn hair marking its parenthood of Darathama, Otomno served through the full arc of Hadrian's campaign -- from Vorgossos to Cynon and Dharan-Tun -- fighting possessed enemies and enduring Demiurge's many crises at Ramanthanu's side.
At Ramanthanu's burial, Otomno mourns in the Cielcin fashion: dressed in makeshift white robes with arms and face weeping black blood from self-inflicted cuts. It had intended to consume Ramanthanu's body in the ritual of belonging-in-death so that nothing of the deceased would remain in the world. Hadrian dissuades it, telling Otomno there are new ways now. Otomno lets out a piercing, Watcher-like cry at the graveside. Following the dispersal of Demiurge's passengers, Hadrian sends Otomno and Darathama to safety aboard the Ascalon, bound for the Jaddians.
