Niles Engin

Niles Engin is the vilicus of the Fishers Guild's operations on Emesh. His skin is a striking ashen gray and he wears a freshly pressed khaki civil service uniform pinned with medals and collar tabs, wringing a billed cap in his square-fingered hands when addressing the count. At a warehouse inspection with Count Mataro, he provides population figures for the Umandh: approximately 1,743 at Ulakiel and approximately 8 million globally — a number significantly up from his last report. He is killed during the subsequent Umandh uprising, his gray-skinned body found face down and bleeding on the concrete floor of the warehouse.
