Melandra

Melandra is a heavy patrician girl with a round face who appears to be Dorian Mataro's companion or lover; she reclines on a couch beside him at the count's private box at the Colosso, and he pulls her closer in a familiar gesture. She is described as pouting slightly. She asks Dorian about the planned triumph for his Ephebeia and refers to Chanter Gilliam Vas as a gargoyle and a beast, saying he has demon blood himself — a reaction that reflects the fear and disgust the court socialites feel toward the intus chanter.
