Lucian Marlowe

Lucian is Hadrian's paternal uncle, a brother or near-relative of Lord Alistair Marlowe. He is deceased by the time of the main narrative, having been killed in a flier crash some seven years before the events described. He is remembered by Hadrian as the one who carried the canopic jar containing Lady Fuchsia's brain at her funeral procession.
