Julian Felsenburgh
CharacterAlso known as: Felsenburgh
First appears in Howling Dark, Chapter 65
Julian Felsenburgh was the last human lord of the Mericanii, a technocrat and businessman who seized power promising his machines would end injustice and bring peace. He held authority until his death, breaking with four centuries of tradition by refusing to abdicate, and named as his successor his daughter Columbia, the computer god. His legacy is the creation of artificial daimons, earning him the epithet "father of daimons" from the scholiast Gibson, who says Felsenburgh sold humanity's soul. His story is known to every scholiast but forbidden to discuss outside athenaeum walls, enforced by the Inquisition.
