Gannon

Gannon is a Martian commander and second-in-command aboard the warship Aurora, serving under Captain Rice. He has the lanky, elongated build and hairless, scarred face typical of Martian physiology. He oversees the descent to Cynon and briefs Hadrian on the Imperial fortress there, and coordinates with Rice to distribute atomic weapons from Cynon across the fleet.

When Hadrian's party returns to Aurora, Gannon greets them in the landing bay, noting Hadrian's injuries. He accepts the presence of the Cielcin Ramanthanu and Otomno only after they kneel and submit to being bound, remarking he has never heard a Cielcin speak the human tongue. He then escorts the group to Captain Rice on the bridge.
