Gaaran

Gaaran is a young Irchtani soldier serving under Hadrian Marlowe, distinguished from his comrades by particularly bright green plumage. He is one of four Irchtani soldiers who attack Hadrian and Pallino in the yard, and is subsequently punished at the whipping posts. He confronts Hadrian directly afterward, voicing his unit's grievance: they had been promised assignment to the front lines and expected a real fight.
