Father Dias

Father Dias is a priest of the Museum Catholic faith and a physician who traveled to Padmurak to minister to the poor living in the underground tunnels beneath Vedatharad. He built a hidden clinic there, saved a young woman he named Magda, baptized her, and taught her Galstani -- the standard interstellar language -- along with others in the underground community.

His activities were not sanctioned by the Grand Conclave. He was caught while venturing above the tunnels to treat the sick, rounded up with others, and presumably sent to a labor camp or transported offworld. His fate remains unknown. Through Magda, his legacy of faith, language, and names continued after his disappearance.
