Dame Camilla

Dame Camilla is a knight-lictor in service to Count Balian Mataro on Emesh. She is a wiry woman who moves in heavy-booted, even strides, with a patrician nose despite apparent plebeian origin — evidence of genetic resculpting. Her voice is amplified by speakers embedded in her breastplate. During the Umandh uprising at the Fishers Guild warehouse, she commands the guards to evacuate the count and directs Valka and Hadrian to come with her. After the attack she reports to the count with military precision — three dead, including the vilicus Engin and two guards — and receives his order to have the Umandh bodies cut up and thrown into the sea.
