Cathar Rhom

Brother Rhom is a cathar of the Holy Terran Chantry assigned to the Borosevo bastille's inquisitorial staff. He is bald and wears the black robes and apron of his order. He is one of two cathars present at Uvanari's final interrogation session, named specifically by Inquisitor Agari when she departs to manage the prisoner riot, with orders to remain behind with Hadrian.

When the bastille power cut kills the electromagnetic clamps holding Uvanari, Rhom realizes too late that the Cielcin is free. Uvanari slams his head against the wall, displacing his blindfold to reveal eyes described as 'white and pure, without iris or pupil, glowing in the black' — the blindfold being symbolic of the Chantry's rite of inquest rather than a genuine impediment. Uvanari snaps his neck and tears out his throat, drinking the blood. Rhom's corpse lies near the base of the torture cross for the remainder of the scene.
