Brux

Brux is the dock master and hangar deck officer of the Balmung, a gray-haired plebeian responsible for cargo manifests and bay security. He speaks with a kindly drawl and is not without sympathy, but carries out his duties firmly.

During a confrontation in the hangar bay, Brux commands roughly thirty servicemen from an armored observation panopticon and attempts to negotiate Hadrian's surrender over the public address system. He addresses Hadrian as "son" and reminds him that while a palatine would not be hanged, his companions would be. He escalates to lethal orders only after Hadrian drops a second Sparrowhawk lighter.
