Bor

Bor is a dock worker at Borosevo's waterfront reclamation depot on Emesh. He is paler than his colleague Skag, with red, peeling skin that Hadrian suspects is the mark of a long-past sickness rather than sunburn. Bor is found wearing Hadrian's stolen carnelian signet ring on his smallest finger. When Hadrian confronts the workers, Bor loses the ring after Hadrian grabs his wrist, pronates the arm, and breaks his elbow with a revolting crunch — Bor screams and falls, demanding someone call the prefects. He recovers to his knees with help from Skag and another worker, but makes no further effort to stop Hadrian from leaving with the ring.
