Baro

Baro is a decurion of the Red Company who served under Lord Hadrian Marlowe for decades, acting as his personal guard on repeated occasions. He is killed during the escape from Vedatharad when a stray bullet fired by pursuing Cielcin charioteers passes through an open hull slit and pierces his throat. His suit seals automatically but too late to save him. Hadrian, who had fought alongside Baro more than a dozen times, attempts to use his temporal perception to find a version of events where the shot misses, but fails.
